What I think of it
ROLEX AIR-KING Oyster Perpetual - reference 116900 from 2019
This model has a distinctive black dial with Arabic numerals at 3, 6 and 9 o’clock, while the other hour marks are shown in minutes. The dial is signed “Rolex”, “Oyster Perpetual”, “Air-King”, “Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified”, “Swiss Made”.
Handsome silvered luminous hour and minute hands and a green seconds hand. A smooth stainless steel bezel sits atop the stainless steel case, 40 mm excluding the crown, in very good condition.
Oyster case, with its screw-down Twin-lock winding crown. The stainless steel winding crown is entirely original and correctly signed with the famous “Rolex” logo.
Inside the Air-King beats a Rolex caliber 3131 movement, more technical than the caliber 3130 used in the Rolex Milgauss.
I love this sober, sturdy and legible model, a must in any collection.
