What I think of it
Rolex Air King, reference 5500, from the ’80s.
This Rolex Air-King 5500 dates from 1980; the serial number confirms that this elegant watch was purchased by its first owner in 1980. The Oyster case measures 34 mm excluding the crown.
The Oyster case shows small, natural signs of wear, with a dial in perfect condition: the silver dial has no scratches or spots. The tritium is original and intact on both the hands and the hour markers. A condition sought after by vintage watch collectors.
The Oyster bracelet bears reference 78350-9 and clasp code VF, and therefore dates from 1980. The Air-King is powered by the extremely robust and reliable Rolex 1520 automatic caliber.
I love this Rolex Air-King 5500, the must-have vintage watch in any collection.
