Quand Jaeger-LeCoultre inventait la réserve de marche automatique

Jaeger-LeCoultre Powermatic “Power Reserve” Automatic – Yellow Gold – Circa 1950

Description
Men’s Jaeger-LeCoultre wristwatch in 18k yellow gold, a witness to an important milestone in the history of the manufacture. Caliber 481, launched at the end of 1948, was the first JLC movement to combine automatic winding with a power reserve indicator, the direct ancestor of the Powermatic and later of today’s Master Réserve de Marche.

The champagne dial, gently patinated by time, features applied Arabic numerals at 12, 3, 6 and 9 and gold arrow hour markers, with a railroad minute track. At the top, the red and white power reserve window adds a characteristic touch of color. Gold dauphine hands and central seconds. The round case, with its stepped bezel and faceted lugs, has a fine ’50s elegance, topped with a domed acrylic crystal and an original crown.
