Pre-owned watches in Dublin

I don’t have a shop in Dublin, and I won’t pretend otherwise. Every watch ships from Orléans, France, and can be seen at my showroom at 29 rue de la Cigogne, 45100 Orléans, France, by appointment. What matters to me is that you can buy from Ireland with the same confidence as someone visiting that showroom.

Used watches in Dublin

When you look for pre-owned watches in Dublin, the process is straightforward. Each watch is shown with detailed characteristics and photos, and you can write to me before ordering with any question or ask for more photos.

I buy and sell pre-owned and vintage watches from Rolex, Cartier, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Longines, Omega, Breitling, TAG Heuer and Universal Genève. I own my stock, so I use no marketplace and no intermediary between you and the watch. The showroom holds no stock; if a watch from the site interests you, I can have it there on request.

What I check before a watch is sold

Chronostyle has existed since 2022, but my experience in watches goes back fifteen years, eight of them in Geneva. Every watch passes through my hands before it is listed: I open it, inspect it, and have it serviced. If it does not convince me, it is not sold.

Each watch comes with a one-year warranty. That applies wherever you are in Ireland.

Delivery to Dublin and Ireland

Once payment is confirmed, I prepare the shipment. Delivery to Ireland costs €80 and takes about 2 to 4 business days from dispatch by DHL Express. The parcel is insured for the full value of the watch, sent in discreet packaging, and handed over against signature.

Because Ireland is in the European Union, there is nothing more to pay on delivery. My watches are sold under the French margin scheme for second-hand goods, and the VAT due is already included in the price.

What to look for in a pre-owned or vintage watch

Start with condition and originality. A dial or hand that has been replaced changes the character of a vintage piece, so ask what is original and what has been serviced. Service history matters less as a document than as a sign the watch has been cared for. Box and papers are nice to have, but they never replace a direct inspection of the movement and case.

Cartier and Jaeger-LeCoultre dress watches

For a dress watch, the first things I look at are the case profile and the dial. A Cartier should have a clean, sharp case; a softened or polished case loses the design. With Jaeger-LeCoultre, I pay particular attention to the movement — a dress watch from that house needs to be right mechanically, not just visually.

On these watches, also check the crystal and the crown. A replacement crystal on a Cartier dress watch can be obvious if the profile is slightly off. A worn crown on a Jaeger-LeCoultre can be harder to source than the movement part it connects to. These are details I verify before a watch is listed, and you can ask me about them directly.

I also buy watches. Send me photos of yours, wherever you are, and I will appraise it personally.
