Pre-owned watches in Edinburgh

I work from Orléans, not from Edinburgh; I have no shop in Edinburgh. Chronostyle has existed since 2022, and I bring fifteen years of experience in watches, eight of them in Geneva, to every pre-owned and vintage piece I sell. If you are looking for second hand watches in Edinburgh — or anywhere in the United Kingdom — you can buy directly from me and have the watch delivered to your door.

Second hand watches in Edinburgh

For used watches in Edinburgh, the purchase starts online. The online shop shows each watch with detailed characteristics and photos. You can write to me with any question, or ask for more photos, before you order. Once your payment is confirmed, I prepare the watch in Orléans for delivery.

I buy and sell pre-owned and vintage watches, and I own my stock, so I use no marketplace and no intermediary. The brands I work with include Rolex, Cartier, Jaeger-LeCoultre, Longines, Omega, Breitling, TAG Heuer and Universal Genève.

If you prefer to see a watch in person, the showroom is at 29 rue de la Cigogne, 45100 Orléans, France, by appointment. It holds no stock; a watch from the site can be shown on request.

What I check before a watch is offered

Every watch passes through my hands before it is listed. I open it, inspect it, and have it serviced. If a piece does not convince me, it is not sold. Each watch is covered by a one-year warranty.

Shipping from France to Edinburgh

Shipping to the United Kingdom costs €80 and takes about 2 to 4 business days from dispatch by DHL Express. The parcel is insured for the full value of the watch, packed discreetly, and handed over against signature.

Customs duties, import VAT or local taxes, and the carrier's clearance fees are payable by you directly to DHL on delivery. They are not included in the price of the watch or in the shipping cost, and they depend on the country, the value and the origin of the watch. I always declare the watch at its real value and with its true origin.

What to look for in a pre-owned watch

For pre-owned watches in Edinburgh, condition and originality come first. Look at the dial, hands, case proportions, and crown. Service history matters as much as box and papers; documented maintenance helps you understand what has been done and when.

Originality should be assessed against the reference: the right movement, dial type, and case finish for the period. A watch can be old and still be coherent.

Jaeger-LeCoultre and Longines dress watches

I pay particular attention to Jaeger-LeCoultre and Longines dress watches. On these pieces, a thin case and an untouched dial carry much of the value. Check that the dial has not been refinished in a way that softens the printing, and that the case retains its original profile and bevels.

For a dress watch, the movement should be correct for the reference and quietly clean. If a dial or case seems questionable, compare it with period examples before you decide.

Thinking of selling your own watch?

I appraise watches from photos, from Edinburgh or anywhere else. If we agree, the watch travels to me with a secure carrier, in a sealed package. Here is how it works.
