If you prefer to see a watch first, the showroom is at 29 rue de la Cigogne, 45100 Orléans, France, by appointment. It holds no stock, so a watch from the site can be shown on request.
What I check before a watch is sold
Chronostyle has existed since 2022. I have fifteen years of experience in watches, eight of them in Geneva. Every watch passes through my hands before it is listed. I open it, inspect it, and have it serviced. If it does not convince me, it is not sold.
Each watch comes with a one-year warranty. The watch you receive has been opened, checked and prepared, not simply photographed and forwarded.
What to look for in a used watch
Condition is the first thing. Look at the case, dial, bezel and bracelet, and ask whether the watch has been polished. Originality matters too: a replaced dial or hand can change the character and value of a vintage piece.
Service history is important. A watch with a recent service is a more reassuring purchase than one with no record. Box and papers are useful, but they should not outweigh condition and originality.
Rolex and Omega in Glasgow
If you are considering a pre-owned Rolex in Glasgow, pay attention to the dial, hands, bezel and bracelet. Small details, like a later service dial or a stretched bracelet, can affect value. On vintage Rolex models, original hands and a correct date disc matter more than a full set.
With Omega, a pre-owned Speedmaster or Seamaster should be checked for case lines, dial condition and service history. A well-kept Omega with recent service can be a very satisfying watch. I apply the same standard before a Rolex or Omega is listed.
Shipping to the United Kingdom
Shipping to the United Kingdom costs €80 and takes about 2 to 4 business days from dispatch, by DHL Express. The watch is insured for its full value, in discreet packaging, and handed over against signature. I prepare the shipment once payment is confirmed.
Customs duties, import VAT or local taxes and the carrier's clearance fees are payable by the buyer, directly to DHL, on delivery. They are not included in the price of the watch or in the shipping cost, and depend on the country, the value and the origin of the watch. I always declare the watch at its real value and with its true origin.
