How buying from Limerick works
The online shop shows each watch with detailed characteristics and photos, along with a selection of current arrivals. Before ordering, you can write to me with any question, or ask for more photos of a watch. Once payment is confirmed, I prepare the shipment.
Shipping to Limerick
Shipping to Limerick costs €80 and takes about 2 to 4 business days from dispatch. I use DHL Express, insured for the full value of the watch, in discreet packaging, handed over against signature. Ireland is in the European Union, so there is nothing more to pay on delivery: my watches are sold under the French margin scheme for second-hand goods, and the VAT due is already included in the price.
What I check before a watch is listed
Every watch passes through my hands before it is listed. I open it, inspect it, and have it serviced. If it does not convince me, it is not sold. Each watch comes with a one-year warranty.
Reading a Rolex Datejust or TAG Heuer
Condition and originality matter more than age. On a Rolex Datejust, I look at the case lines, the bezel, the dial, and the stretch of the bracelet; a well-preserved original dial often tells you more than a refinished one. On a TAG Heuer, I check the case finish, the crown, and — on a chronograph — the action of the pushers.
Service history matters on a Datejust because a well-maintained movement is easier to assess than one with unknown care. On a TAG Heuer chronograph, the pushers should start, stop, and reset cleanly; if they hesitate, I set the watch aside. Box and papers complete the picture, but they are only part of it. A watch that has been serviced and shows coherent wear is often more satisfying than one that looks new on paper.
